Bet's Thoughts after the Bar Exam...

The exam took over 12 hours over the course of two days. She said that compared to the bar, going to law school, running a marathon, and going through cancer, chemo, and radiation were a breeze. She will find out the results in the middle of April. Pray especially for the graders of her three essays as these can be very subjective. Thank you, everyone, for every prayer on her behalf.

Today, the day after the Bar Exam, she began the day with chemotherapy and finished the afternoon with three tests at the Moffitt Cancer Center. She is now shopping at the mall!!!! She will take a week off to "hang out" with friends in Chicago and Sarasota before returning to Casagrande and Associates. You go, girl!!!

THIS IS THE WEEK...PLEASE PRAY!!

Could you please pray with me this week? All day Tuesday and Wednesday, Bethany will finally have another opportunity to take the Bar Exam. She has been diligent and is trusting the Lord for clarity of thought even while she is still in the midst of chemo. Thankfully, this is her best week as she will have chemotherapy on Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon, she will finally have an ultrasound to see what is happening in her pelvis and/or abdomen (don't know if they'll do both at that time). Please pray there will be no cancer. Also, my husband is driving down now to support her through these three days, so please pray for his safety and just the right words to encourage her. Friday she has a flight to Chicago to see her dear friend, Rana from Stetson Law. When Bethany returns, she will enjoy the sunshine with Kera, a dear friend who lives in Sarasota (they were on the Liberty University tennis team together). Bethany will then return to Casagrande and Associates Law Firm in St. Petersburg. Whew!

Studying for the Bar!

Sorry, no pictures. Imagine Bethany studying untold hours each day at several venues like Starbucks, Panera Bread or the Largo Library after watching four hours of a BARBRI Course on such subjects as Constitutional Law, Criminal Law or Contracts. Not much to take a picture of except a determined young lady who is still having chemo every three weeks (just had it yesterday, by the way) and dealing with her regular dr. appts. I'm here again to do Mommy things and we always manage to fit in good restaurants, shopping, and church so it's fun too! (I have Monday off.) Joey, Christy and Baby Claire called this morning on Skype so our day was off to a wonderful start! Thanks for caring about us through your time in prayer. The Bar Exam will be February 26 and 27.

Bethany Update...a Matter of Prayer

Yes, she is still undergoing chemotherapy every three weeks and is also taking a chemo pill every day. No severe reactions to either, of which we are eternally grateful. Her hair is coming in nicely and she is great at styling and making the best of it. As you know, she is always making the best of it!! Her faithwalk with the Lord is amazing. She is so much FUN.

The day after Christmas she was supposed to start her PMBR Class (the multi-state bar review) but the Moffitt Cancer Center scheduled her for a mammogram. We went straight from Georgia again to Moffitt. Because a lump was found in her other breast, the doctor came in to talk to us and she also had an ultrasound and then (after receiving an IV) had an MRI. We should know that results of the MRI in a few days. Please pray that no cancer will be found.

Would you please also pray for Joey and his family? They are trying to self-diagnos themselves which is scary enough. Joey thinks he has strep throat and perhaps Scarlet Fever, typhoid, or some other South Asian malady. Christy seems to be getting the same as Joey yet is a couple of days behind. Pray for Baby Claire. She is not herself. They fly to Thailand in a few days for a conference and to see a Doctor for Claire's shots, so they all obviously will need some attention. Please pray for them in the meantime. They are all exhausted so were susceptable.

Thank you for caring and praying. As Joey said when he heard about Bethany, "Where else can we go except to God?"
